Luis Shahid Kanchi G.

Luis is an associate specializing in tax law at Acedo Santamarina. For more than eight years he has focused his practice in tax consulting and litigation, participating in the advice and estate planning of several national and multinational companies, as well as in the attention of proceedings before the tax authorities, the Procuraduría de la Defensa del Contribuyente (PRODECON). He has represented clients in federal and state tax litigation. In addition, Luis has experience in the areas of Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Corruption, advising several clients in the financial, pharmaceutical, automotive and oil & gas sectors.

Throughout his professional career, Luis has been part of several firms specialized in tax and administrative law, such as Natera Consultores, EY, and Kaye Trueba y Castilleja Abogados, where he has acquired extensive experience.

Academically, Luis has a law degree from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Tax Law at the Universidad Panamericana. In addition, Luis has a Diploma in Amparo Trial given by the Casa de la Cultura Jurídica de la Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación and participated as co-author of the book “El juicio de amparo en materia fiscal” (The Amparo Trial in Tax Matters).

In addition, Luis has participated in several courses given by the Federal Court of Administrative Justice, related to tax reforms in the country, as well as on the establishment of the federal administrative litigation procedure. He also participated in a course on the National Anticorruption System, given by the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE) through the Network for Accountability and the U.S. Agency’s Promoting Transparency in Mexico Program. for International Development (USAID).
